About John Conner… John Conner heads the Modern Language Department at Groton School (Massachusetts) where he has taught since 1981. A graduate of Evanston Township High School (Illinois) and Amherst College, he earned his master’s degree in Spanish Literature and Linguistics from the University of Wisconsin. Mr. Conner is considered one of the country’s leading voices in the study of language. The author of the Breaking the Barrier language series, his Spanish and French textbooks are in use in schools and colleges throughout the country. He has worked as a consultant to the College Board and served on the Test Development Committee for the Advanced Placement Examinations. A popular speaker, he frequently offers workshop entitled “The Ideal Lesson Plan – Grammar-Based and Dynamic!” to educators from coast to coast.
